When Melanie approached me about a family session and getting some milestone images for her two sons, I was so excited to document the Thompson Family 2017! She told me that she almost skipped family pictures this year because of their crazy schedule. But she reconsidered because her youngest has changed so much and is hardly the wobbly baby from their last pictures. She wanted to document this stage. That just resonated with my mom heart so much with my own growing toddler!
Thompson Family 2017
This family was so fun to work with! The youngest (almost 2) loves balloons and puppies. I was sure to put a couple balloons in my pocket before their session, and I’m sure I looked pretty silly blowing them up while taking his images! We saw some dogs going on a walk during the session as well, so he seemed to enjoy that, too.
The older son has such a personality too! He loved making “signs” with his hands for the pictures! (Ironically, the sign he was making with each hand means, “I love you.”) He definitely kept things interesting, and made it so easy to capture his personality.
I’ve worked with the oldest daughter at church for quite some time, and she is such a sweetheart! She loves speaking in an English accent, and can always make others smile. She is very involved with Theater, and is always telling us about the shows she’s preparing for. I’ve loved working with her!
Ben (Dad) was such a trooper! When Little brother got cold and decided he was done with pictures, he and Dad went to the car to warm up while I continued working with the older siblings. He was so patient during the whole session and never complained. This family was so fun to work with!
Melanie (Mom) was great throughout the whole process! She was so patient as I was scouting locations for their session late in the season, and reassured me that the people are more important than the background. (And how true that is!) She has always been kind to me, and I love the way she seeks out others’ needs so she can fill them. I’ve really loved working with her and her sweet family!
