I recently had the opportunity to photograph Baby Rith, who was only eleven days new. Her theme is foxes, so it was so perfect that she had some little stuffed animal foxes to use during her session. She also had a cute little fox outfit made by Sheri Bear. (She can be contacted at Sherigillies@gmail.com)
This sweet little girl didn’t want to go to sleep for most of the session. She was, however, perfectly content to just hang out and look around while we took her pictures. I love the curiosity and amazement in her eyes. She has the cutest little stuffed animal collection, and when you heat them up, they smell nice, too! It was her Mommy’s idea to pose her with some of the little stuffed animals all lined up. They turned out darling!
It was so fun to be able to include Mom and Dad in a few of the shots. I love being able to see the parents interact with their baby, and getting that on camera was even better!
I loved seeing all her tiny features: the fingers, toes, and eyelashes were my favorite. I’m totally obsessed with her tiny little toes, and I couldn’t resist getting a few shots of them! This little girl’s favorite position was to have one foot extended out as far as she could reach and the other scrunched up by her little bum. Ruffle Buns made the cute silver diaper cover. She also seemed to like having her little fists up by her face. It was cute to see how she would kick herself out of the wraps.
Mom made a comment during the session that she had the only baby who didn’t like to be swaddled, but my son was exactly the same way. It’s so interesting to see how, even at this early stage, every baby is unique and has different preferences.
I really enjoyed this session, and it has made me eager to photograph more newborns. (If you know anyone who is expecting, send them my way!) I hope you enjoy these precious images as much as I loved capturing them!
